Welcome!

Hi there, welcome to our blog for the Trent Community Movements Conference, happening February 6-8 2009. My name is Chris - I'm one of the co-chairs of the organizing committee from the Students Association in International Development (SAID) that's working hard to bring you another amazing conference. This year's theme is Food Sovereignty and the Changing Face of Agriculture. We're looking forward to working with you and guests like author and professor Tony Weis and Trent's own Paula Anderson, a local organic farmer and manager of waste reduction programs at Peterborough Green-Up, to explore the roots of the current food crisis, the ways we're bound to one another within our food systems today, and ways people here in Canada and around the world are working to create change. We hope you'll join us in February, watch this space for more information, and please send us your thoughts and questions or leave a comment here on the blog!

Looking forward to hearing from you,
Chris
